The Idaho® Potato Drop is proud to initiate our innovative community program. Historically, downtown Boise lacked New Year’s Eve festivities until our inaugural event in 2012. Over the ensuing 12 years, the event has expanded, reaching billions globally, and has become a hub for inquiries such as accommodation and dining options. In collaboration with the Boise Convention & Visitors Bureau, we have streamlined this process by redirecting queries to their website which lists Boise hotels. However, to further enhance user experience, we are revamping our website to incorporate information about downtown hotels and restaurants. This will facilitate year-round navigation and reservations for our patrons, referred to as ‘spec”taters’, and our Downtown Boise Business partners. The new website, set to launch on December 1, 2024, will offer two options:

In addition to our year-round marketing that reaches billions of people, we also attract tens of thousands of spec”taters” to this free, charitable family friendly event. We rely on our allies to help keep our patrons warm that cannot stand outside for several hours. To insure we keep this family event” free” and to solidify its continued success we need a TEAM of businesses, sponsors and local community leaders that want to participate because we are stronger together. The Idaho® Potato Drop receives year-round media and we receive request year-round asking where to stay and where to eat. So, your business will be promoted not just on new year’s for reservations, but year-round.
