IDAHO® POTATO DROP — NEW YEAR’S EVE IN BOISE

Get ready for the 13^th annual Idaho® Potato Drop , Idaho’s award-winning signature holiday event live at the Idaho State Capitol brought to you by “Local P.T. Barnum”, Dylan Cline.

Nominated for a third time by USA Today’s “10 Best Reader’s Choice Award” for “Best New Years Eve Drop”, this time-honored tradition brings people together from all around the world to celebrate and ring in the new year.

Starting at 6:00 PM, the ICCU Main Stage comes to life as the world-famous #GlowTato ascends to its evening perch, kicking off the Idaho® Potato Rise with Emcee Sean Hancock rallying spec-Taters and raising awareness for local non-profits. Guitar virtuoso Joe Perez will kick off the party with a guitar-dazzled rendition of the Star Spangled Banner followed by Boise Rock School starting the Potato Rise for their 13th straight year! Dance the night away with Mall Goth Moths, Hannah Strumner and Zack Q & the Frizz until headliner American Mile rocks the event into the new year and the country’s 250th anniversary!

KTVB will be broadcasting live with extended coverage in Cecil D. Andrus Park featuring live music, food trucks, sporting events, eclectic vendors and of course, BIG Idaho® Potatoes. Local heroes EquipmentShare will be keeping Spec-Taters warm with their state-of-the-art heating units in the long-missed Family Tent, back for the first time since 2020!

Skiers and snowboarders compete for cash and prizes in the Idaho® Potato Drop Urban-Rail Jam with snow provided by Bogus Basin and all-new rail features built by the incomparable Onslaught Crew. Our 2024 Urban SnowPark Series won SAM Magazine’s international “Terrain Park Contest” against the best ski resorts in the world! This innovative event has created partnerships with local snow sports organizations, United States Ski & Snowboard Association and caught the attention of ESPN, US Ski & Snowboard and the X Games. Not to be missed, this one-of-a-kind event boasts some serious talent, complete with dual flame columns at the finish line, this Idaho new year’s tradition is sure to please!

Sample delicious local food and grab a coffee or toddy the all-ages beer garden near the vendor camp located throughout the park. Don’t forget to snap a picture with Spuddy Buddy and the Big Idaho® Potato Tour truck after selecting your official Idaho® Potato Drop clothing!

At 7 pm, VIP pass holders can grab a drink and dance the night away in our warm and cozy VIP room located next to the ICCU Main stage. Enjoy a full bar with one complimentary drink and appetizers from 3 Girls Catering starting at 8:00 PM until 10:00 PM with live music and a raffle starting at 10:00 PM. Prizes include local ski resort Passes, Idaho® Potato Commission Goodies, spa packages and a one-night stay in the Idaho® Potato Hotel.

When the countdown to the new year begins, Inland Crane will ‘Drop’ it like it’s hot to a 5 X LARGER world-class pyrotechnic display from sir Jag Pyro.
